Thread: Two MT4s but one live account?

  1. #1
    Hi there,

I want to have two MT4s open in the same broker but I also want to log in using exactly the same live account on both of these MT4s.

    First, is that possible?

Second, would that cause any issues?

    Thanks for your help!

So you're logged in with the same live account on two distinct devices and two distinct MT4s and it works just fine?

In C:\Program Files (x86) you create new folder for any new mt4 case from same broker you'll have in same computer as many mt4 instances with different acc or same acc in same broker as you need opened at same time,of course depend on how much your machine support .then on your desktop just rename every new shortcut depending on your wish to have the ability to identify them well.

Thank you Husky for the sort excuse. Could you also confirm that being logged in with exactly the exact same live account on at least two or more MT4s is not harmful and won't cause any difficulties? This is my primary concern. Other users say it's okay, but the more folks affirm, the greater.

You can have numerous MT4 running on the same computer connecting to the same broker and same account and this will not create any issues.

    Cheers!

I could login in various mt4 cases exactly the same pc in same broker same acc.and I could say no problems at all.i dont see why are no problems as long every new folder you make in C:\Program Files (x86) will have separate information.
Also you dont need always the installation file from any particular broker.mt4 is... mt4.i can login in hotforex with all the one took it and installed from admiral for example, just loe your broker and server in the list.you can use primary metaquotes mt4 if you have one because old times.now if you want download mt4 out of them they just redirect you to mt5 cos there is no more updates and support for mt4.icon with particular broker name on it's only an icon,mt4 exactly the same for all.

No need to mess up the ProgramFiles and appdata/roaming folders...

Instead of reinstalling the platform multiple times simply copy the Metatrader (ProgramFiles) folder and paste it anywhere you need (e.g. dropbox folder) and as many times as you need (one for every operating terminal). Go into your new folder(s) and make a shortcut to terminal.exe. Now open the properties to the shortcut and insert /portable towards the end of the target. Your terminal cases will start in portable mode and all of your MQL files will now be kept in your new folder rather than appdata/roaming. Just don't forget to start your terminals via the shortcut.
