According to name...
I wish to set the vertical scale of the chart to something not linked to the inherent pair values.
Can it be possible to do so from within MT4 code??
If so how please?
TIA

Thank you Ralome,
This is precisely what I believed and had hunted previously.
At the moment I have no intention of switching to MT5... my thoughts are that not many brokers support it yet. . .am I correct?
Only thought that somebody great with the windows interface may have thought of a solution.

Surely not possible with MQL4. Not sure about Windows API, but I suspect it would be hard.
Possibly saying the obvious, but why not use a sub-chart, then drag the separator up so that it fills the entire MT4 window (that is if you don't need to observe the candlestick chart at the exact same time)?

Thanks David.
At least this confirms it. (My love for MT4 grows!)
Subwindow .... Yes that could do the job. Believe the reason I didn't do this was something to do with all the histogr colouring down to'0' that was annoying to workaround but not impossible.
Thanks all,
M.
you just have extra buffers to float the background colour in the bottom of whatever is intended to be the bottom. That's how I build nearly perfect candlesticks in sub windows. Occasionally they are still off by a few pixels on account of the way some of the buffers round-off when drawingbut that can not be helped afaik.Originally Posted by ;
Hi Futurespec,
this says it is impossible: http://www.metatrader4.com/forum/2722 I couldn't find any additional information about it. However, it is definitely potential in MQL5: http://www.mql5.com/en/docs/standard...cchartfixedmax
