Thread: Can someone explain this type of market movement?

  1. #1
    Hello,

I'm a relative newbie and would like to ask if someone can explain to me in rather straightforward terms how this type of thing takes place in the market. I've seen this sort of thing often when back testing over old charts. It's all about 1hr 20 mins into New York session this past year on 5 minutes chart. I don't believe it is news related.

How can the associations push price up such as this then down to complete below. Obviously market exploitation but how and why (stop sweeping?!) .

Thank you, all replies welcome (I think)

smile:id not happen quickly enough to be considered High Frequency Trading. Looks like a typical next market session take more than where one semester I.e. Part of the trading world ends-begins.
Liken this to a college cafeteria since the change of different crowds coming to the feeding trough since the previous bunch leaves.

Most probably you're seeing a news related motion. With all the news, you will notice a such a sharp move and change. Of course, a likely explanation would be hitting a distribution zone. I read about this at an Al Brooks publication. You have vendors wanting to sell they want to market at a higher price and so they create a bull motion prior to the selling. However, it occurs faster than what your chart reveals so news is my guess.

You should say it was the pair along with the number of pips.
The roundtrip was 50 upward and 70 down.

It went up on the headline that ECBs Nowotny said that ECB doesn't have resources to combat a stronger euro, and then went as leveraged dollar short positions were coated for the FOMC minutes the next day, which indeed saw USD strenght.

It's called'random shizzle' reasons are insignificant as you do not understand when, why or which direction at any point in the future. Any rationale is futile
