Alright - found the information I was looking for. As you can see, you can find FCMs bigger than IB - Goldman, Deutsche, Barclays, etc.. Though IB is the largest who've customer Foreign Exchange funds. Near $36m

If you were truly looking for the FCM using the most significant forex-business, you'd be looking to turn into FXCM, they have more than 10 times the quantity of customer funds in Foreign Exchange than IB does.

All this data is available in the CFTC: http://www.cftc.gov/MarketReports/Fi...FCMs/index.htm

Is the margin provided from the Forex Broker?
Let us say I would like to move from IB to Goldman. Would Goldman provide 1:40 leverage such as IB?

Depending on the volume you pull out in a monthly base, you can consider getting your own installation.
Platform, bridge should you want one for access to this market, and receive your own account using a more or one Liquidity Providers.

Another choice is to pool resources with an present STP Brokers for access for their LP or ECN
to get a lesser then ordinary commission.

Very literally - Interactive Brokers is the largest FCM from the US that offers spot Forex. IB has something like $1.5b in assets (though only a very small fraction of this is customer forex money ). Other FCMs may have more in customer forex money, but are substantially smaller. I think I have the real numbers laying around somewhere.

That being said, the biggest does not always mean they're the best...

Most of full-service Brokers (different markets) supply around that leverage.
Forex only Brokers could supply more, but outside of the Usa.

Most liquidity providers grant 100:1 for forex nowdays.
