    Westpac australia consumer confidence index declines for second straight month

    A personal way of measuring Australian consumer sentiment declined to get a second consecutive month in May, data showed on Wednesday.

    The Westpac-Melbourne Institute survey of consumer sentiment fell 1.1% from April, when it slipped 0.7%. Anything below 100 signals the optimists are outweighed by the pessimists . The consumer confidence index has held since December below 100.

    The monthly customer sentiment index tracks economic expectations and usage trends among Australian families. The report is viewed as a barometer of consumer spending, which drives a lot more than half of the economy.

    So we've company confidence up and customer confidence down .

    I can definitely see a pattern here .. .. of lies ..

    I do feel nevertheless through my own eyes that customer confidence is about the decline ..
