    St. louis fed's bullard discusses recent developments in u.s. monetary policy

    2 Attachment(s) Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis President James Bullard tackled “Recent Developments in U.S. Monetary Policy” throughout his presentation at a meeting hosted Friday by the Association for Corporate Growth at Washington University in St. Louis.

    During his presentation, Bullard discussed that U.S. macro economic information since the March 20 17 meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) have been fairly weak, on-balance. For instance, he mentioned that U.S. inflation and inflation expectations have amazed to the downside lately.

    In discussing the FOMC's March boost in the coverage rate (i.e., the federal funds rate target), he mentioned that the economic market reaction has been the reverse of what would generally be anticipated. “This might advise the FOMC's contemplated plan rate path is extremely intense in accordance with real incoming info on U.S. macro economic efficiency,” he stated.
