What are your opinions? Do you think retail FX is going to end soon in the united states? I understand regulators are the driving factor, the last major regulation change was December of 2016 from what I find. So 1 complete year with no shift. I really do see a new broker coming back to the USA too. So I. Stocks will be around forever, its a major economical indior of economy wellbeing and helps businesses grow and develope and its kept in the united states, in which as FX is global so harder to control that is why I wonder how long people will believe retail FX will likely be around for? For us traders who is.

The Trump adminiion would be more inclined to eliminate restrictions and regulations than to include more. Therefore IMO, retail forex will last at least through his or her term.

PIP is right. Current government has revoion of dodd frank in sight, even if they go thru with it and passes congress. Tons of brokers world will have access to US markets once again. That said, the biggest of brokers currently in the united states are owned by holding companies which spend big money. So getting it is going to be an uphill battle.

Let me get this right. Brokers are siphoning money. US bodies are implementing policies to protect consumers through regulations and cftc? This regulation includes reducing leverage?

Retail trading will only benefit people with large pockets? And brokers who has deep pockets can provide retail trading for the public?

Ain't private banks with the deepest pockets are trading contrary to the customers money? I'm missing...

I swear these articles come up every 5-10 years...

here is one from 8 decades back.

    It's not likely to end.

Think just how much money people might have produced in the last 8 years focusing on the market rather than worrying about it being closed down...

The absolute worst case scenario is bucket shop brokers go away and everything is managed on the futures market and there would be miniature contracts for all the crosses just like there are miniature contracts for your majors, also liquidity would be 100% transparent. So the worst case situation would be good. The only reason why I do not trade strictly futures is that they don't offer of the crosses.

If it were true that would suck. I won't spend my time worrying about it though. Besides, if you are a great trader, any liquid market can be traded. There's always shares, futures, options, etc..
