Thread: EA MindStorms

    Hello everybody, welcome!

Idea: Structure for creating modular EAs. The idea is to make robots with several different motors talking to each other or just a mechanism in a easy way to test various combinations of egies. Similar to this Trio Orchestra where it uses 3 motors of this timeless Ilan with different input signals.
An engine will only be a bit of the primary EA.
Instance of engines: xBest / / Ilan / / TrendFolowEa, respectively...
An example of use is to leave a xBest engine just on purchase and yet another Ilan just on sale to test both at precisely the same time on the backtest
One canceling Drawdow from the other.

Potential motors / mt4 sensors are welcome.

    Fan of your gifts, roldolfolm.
Good entry points are just a part of the equations.
I propose that we spend some effort in polishing the exit egy as well.
For me the effort estimation for entrances and exits must be 50:50.

Fantastic thought, but why not have for example four EAs working and a overall EA that is seeing take profit and loss over the entire equity?

    That is precisely my point.
Most people use this method to shut their trades - if total profit/loss $ strikes x sum close all trades.
That is overly 1-dimensional in my opinion, for a Few reasons:

    1) You lose out on potential gains
    2) You risk suffering a series of unrecoverable losses
    3) It's counterproductive especially if you are trading with a basket of currencies

By the way, all of that can be achieved with 1 EA

That EA do you intend to monitor the whole equity of a basket or account. . .and why to not shut all at particular profit level?

I write my own code so I can not recommend any EA to You, but I'm sure there are loads of free ones out there if you would like to use one of these.

The reasons are in my previous post above.
As a very simple example, suppose you are in floating loss of $500 for 2 weeks. Along with your basket TP is 10. Now you hit 10 and you get a stored from a wipe out. Sounds like a good rescue. However, is it really the perfect way to close out your transactions?

You can code out an easy EA to verify this.

Do not get me wrong, this is one of those techniques to close your trades out but IMO it should not be the sole way in your arsenal.

surely it does not make any sense to close a basket at $10 profit if you are in a floating DD of -500$. . .or dont I know you right!? I want to close out just then when the entire basket/account equity (floating profits minus DD) is in the greens. . .at a predefined level you are comfortable and satisfied with. .

yes. . Most trader will willingly float at -500$ but not calm enough to let it float at 500$. . haha

What's your plan on this bro? Let me know how I can help. I believe this is among the more promising ones. I can plug in exits as among the modular components.

Have you ever considered using momentum on the profitable trades? Most martingale ea's don't allow adding new trades on the winning side but if you do that if there's a strong trend, it should lessen the dd significantly. Trailing should also be used in case the trend works back.
