Thread: What am I doing wrong with MT4?

  1. #1
I am new to MT4, but I can't appear to get the VWB documents to appear at the navigator list. I have copied the source documents in the Experts folder, opened each one and pressed Optimize, but where can it put the executable files, I can't find them anywhere? The 2 files do appear in the Experts folder, but they are greyed out, which I assume means they have not been compiled.

Also, I have downloaded the MT4 User Manual and even though I can open it in IE, the index is there but not the material. Any thoughts?

I copied them to expertsgt;indiors, but when I try to add them to the cart, nothing else happens.

Sorry to butt in. . Have you tried restarting MT4?
I had no problem with it once I inserted it. . So I can not really pinpoint the problem. .

Also make sure (just trial and error here), to remove any duplie files. .
Ensure that you deleted the files you copied in the specialists folder.

The indior will soon be accessible from Insert gt; Indiors gt; Custom in the menu bar.

I have copied them in to Expertsgt;Indiors, compiled them and re-started MT4, but they still don't do anything. I have noticed there are no executable files and they don't look in the Indiorsgt;Custom pull down. But they do appear in the Navigator window beneath Custom Indiors. If I attempt to drag one of them onto a chart or right click and insert them, nothing happens.

Alright, I think the process that I did not make was to recycle them.
Another trial and error here. .
    1) Don't compile the indiors.
    Two ) Restart MT4
    3) Check the Custom Indiors again from the menu

I am not sure whether that makes any difference or not, but I downloaded MT4 from metaquotes.net. .

In the event the above processes still do not work, then your last resort would be to re-install MT4. .

Alright, please disregard my post. . I have the exact same issue. .
I deleted the .ex4 files and also the exact same thing today happens to me. .

I will try to figure out this too...

Okay, got it... Follow these steps:

    1) Create a backup of this VWB indiors
    2) Open MT4 (assuming it's shut )
    3) Delete the VWB indiors on the left panel under Custom indiors
(This may delete the VWB indiors under the experts/indior folder)
    4) Close MT4
    5) place the backup VWB indiors again in the experts/indior folder
    6) Open MT4

    This should fix up things...

    Because everybody

Eastmaels, before I read your post, I managed to repair it. I deleted them from the Expertsgt;Indiors folder, opened each one in turn using the editor from the loion where I initially down-loaded them then saved back them into the Expertsgt;Indiors folder. I am not certain why this made any difference....only thing I can imagine is that the editor included something to the MQ4 files.

Works well. . .at least it is fixed.

    LOL. .
WellI think that your fix is faster than mine. .

You're close. Put them in the Expertsgt;Indiors folder instead. The first time you insert them in a chart they'll compile automatically.
