  1. #1
    Hi Everyone.

Im fairly new to Forex, play not more than two months just now.

Can anybody explain to me, why on FXCM platform, on demo account and micro account gap between prices on the exact same pair is around 20 pips. Shouldnt they be precisely the same?

    Thanks for explanation

    I've never noticed this difference.

Do you check again in the 7 months since writing this article?

The actual gap is contingent on the broker, however, because an API trader I know for a fact that there are gaps with every broker I have had interactions with. The first think I do is run a script which tests spiking, slippage, spread data and execution rate. There is a difference in presentation mode in regards to everything except spread statistics.

The demo accounts are more or less much like the true trading accounts supplied by the said broker, so through analyzing any demo account we can easily determined the actual trading conditions provided by those brokers. Once a broker demo account is evaluation and we opt to choose them, always start with small merely to look at their further processes like withdrawal etc..

Certain retail brokers (from time to time) will change on cheating plugins on servers for real accounts.

This is one of those forex advice, Demo and Live are never exactly the same, my advice to you is if you find a fantastic egy which you're willing to critically check, then check it on live account with micro lots to minimize any possible losses, which what I always do. In 8 years of trading I have never used a demo account.

As far as I know, with many reputable brokers the Demo server is accepting quotes directly from the live one, so there should not be any quoting difference between the two environments.

That stated, micro vs standard/ECN has price differences due spread, so charts may wind up somewhat differently.

    Hey partner,
that's way I picked an STP broker who offers just one kind of account to each of its clients., i.e. equivalent trading conditions for all. I see it as a reasonable thing.
